Our Pastor, Brian Maguire, has served at Westminster since 2004. Brian is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and came to Westminster after serving as a chaplain at Princeton University. Brian is originally from Minnesota, which explains his funny accent and his skeptical attitude toward Ohio winters. He is a graduate of Carleton College and the University of Minnesota Law School. Prior to entering ministry, Brian practiced law for seven years. Brian lives with his wife Lisa Hess, who is also an ordained Presbyterian pastor serving as a professor of practical theology at United Theological Seminary in Dayton.
For fun, Brian cooks outrageously complicated French food, studies naval architecture, and plays overly-involved computer strategy games. The rest of Brian’s free time is occupied by his work for the larger church where he serves as chairperson for the Miami Presbytery Committee on Ministry. Brian is very susceptible to bribes in the form of muffins and is rumored to have killed every plant that has ever been placed in his care. A very nervous Jade plant presently resides next to his desk.
