One of the things we celebrate at Christmas is the idea of the incarnation of Christ—that Christ was divine, yet human, a holy and perfect being in a body like yours and mine. What does it mean to you that Jesus was divine and human?
What do you think made God want to have a body? This embodiment of Christ should change our ideas about God, help us see God not as distant and angry but instead to see how God seeks to be close to us.
In what ways can you think of Jesus as fully human? Could the embodiment of Christ make us think differently about our own body, maybe seeing it less critically and more as a gift?
Lift your hands, or lace your fingers together, praying with your body in thanks for the embodied love of God who came from heaven to be one of us.
