Please join us for three Tuesdays in October for a workshop on contemplative prayer practices.  Many members of our church have found encouragement and insight in the practice of silent, centering prayer.  The workshop will start with centering prayer and lead into other traditional Christian prayer practices.  Each session will run from 7-8 p.m. in the chapel.

Oct 16:  Centering Prayer with a Word; Chanting

Oct 23:  Centering Prayer with the Breath; Body Prayer

Oct 30:  Lectio Divina; Working with Icons

Saturday, October 13

Brief Prayer Service at 10:00 a.m.

Drop-in Blessings 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m

Where there is love, there is God. The animals in our lives surely bring us love and joy. To honor the legacy of Saint Francis of Assisi, often pictured with animals gathered around him, we will have a short service praising the God who gives us the rich gifts of all creation, and offer simple blessings for both pets and the humans who love them. We will be joined by representatives from 4 Paws For Ability and have the opportunity to learn more about their unique mission of training service animals.

First Thursday Meetings

First Thursday is back! In honor of the back to school season, we will be offering a chance for all of us to learn something. Bring your device and your burning questions about texting, GPS, or voice mail. Dinner will be provided, with a lunch lady inspired menu. Committee time from 5:30-6:30 pm. Dinner from 6:30 -7pm.

Activity from 7 - 8pm. Questions call Joyce Rickels 372-3835.

Lively Ladies Chat

The Lively Ladies Chat will not hold a get together in July and August. We will start meeting together again on Friday the 13th of September at the home of Marilyn Hanlin,

1585 Dee Anne Dr, at 10:00 a.m. I am sure there will plenty to share about experiences we have had plus items from magazines or the newspaper or books we have read which were of interest. See you then. Time passes quickly so mark your calendars now!

Our garden project with Tecumseh continues!

Beginning this week (weather permitting) we will have students coming to transplant the seedlings we planted with them in April. While here they will learn about composting, native plants, walk our labyrinth, and have a fun being outside on a spring day. We could use a couple of extra volunteers to be onsite to help in one of the learning centers we will set up or just to do some crowd control. If you are available Monday or Wednesday 10-11am and/or 1-2pm, please let Pastor Melissa know. Rain dates: May 21-23.

Community Garden Set Up Day: Saturday March 17th

Calling all gardeners!  It's time to set up our community garden again.  We're going to expand the garden this year:  Plans are in the works to involve students from Tecumseh, and to invite our neighbors who live in apartments to come and garden here.

We need people to help set up the garden this Saturday, March 17th, starting at 10:00 a.m.  The Boy Scouts are coming by to help as well, after they make the rounds of their canned food drive that morning.  So if you want to be doubly helpful, come lend a hand and also bring a can or two for the scouts.
